In the first night of collections, the Combined Charities Drive totaled $8,171. This exceeds the amount collected on the first night of the drive last year by $18.

Contributions from the Yard amounted to $2272, and Lowell led the Houses with $1331, followed by Eliot with $995, Kirkland with $774, Adams with $736, Winthrop with $727, Dunster with $661, Leverett with $472 and the outhouses with $202.
