The varsity 'A' squash team lost ground yesterday in its attempt to gain on the 'A' league leaders, dropping a close 3 to 2 decision to the Union Boat club 'Whites' at Hemenway Gym.
The Crimson team, reflecting the temporary loss of number three man Hugh Nawn as well as the strain of reading period, played below par and now has only a slim chance of capturing the league title.
In another match played at Hemenway yesterday, the freshman 'C' team swept its third straight league match as it blanked M.I.T., 5 to 0, without losing a game. The Yardlings have now won 30 out of 35 individual league matches, and will meet the M.I.T. Faculty-Graduate team on February 15 in a match which will decide the division title.
