Good Snow Cover Predicted For This Weekend

Ski Country Has 6 to 10 Inch Base

Last Sunday's coastal storm dumped more snow on the local ski areas than on the better known hills to the north. There is a better base in the high country, however, and with more snow expected this weekend in Vermont and New Hampshire it appears that the College's schussers and snow bunnies will probably be able to get in some good skiing before holing up in Cambridge for the exam period.

The Weather Bureau last night issued the following ski report:

NEW HAMPSHIRE:

Jackson--Black Mountain: Three to ten inches with three surface powder. No skiing on upper trails, poor lower.

North Conway--Cranmore: Three to six with three inches powder. Fair upper, fair to good lower.

Franconia--Mittersill: Seven to ten with three powder. Upper and lower poor but packed.
