Yale's crack golf team raced past Harvard, Princeton, and Columbia this weekend at the Salem Country Club to gain a chance to defend its Eastern Intercollegiate Golf title next week at Princeton. The Elis whipped Harvard 5 to 2, after the Crimson had dropped a match to Princeton by the same score.

In the Tiger match, Crimson Captain Bob Matson lost his match at the 19th hole to Bill Ragland, Princeton captain, and the four following positions followed suit. Only six and seven men Dave Gorman and Hugh Nawn salvaged wins.

Nawn repeated his victory against Yale, with Doug Wilde scoring the other Crimson victory.

Marv Schwalb sank a 12-foot putt on the last green to give the freshman golf team a 4 to 3 triumph over the Eli freshmen.
