Brooks Is Appointed Professor of Physics

Appointment of Dr. Harvey Brooks as Gordon McKay Professor of Applied Physics was announced last night by Provost Buck. McKay will take over his new post July 1, 1950.

A special Research Associate at the University from 1942 to 1945, McKay presently is associated with the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory of the General Electric Company in Schenectady, New York. He was graduated from Yale in 1937 and received the Ph.D. from the University in 1940.

McKay, who is the author of scientific publications in various fields of physics, makes his home in Schenectady.
