Denied Winter Campus Housing, International Students Scramble to Find Alternative Options
To the Editors of the CRIMSON
In recent weeks there has been much agitation over the affairs and conduct of the Student Council. The reason for this disquiet has been strikingly brought home to us in this week's Student Council Poll.
This evening, in the alcove leading to the Leverett House dining hall we found a Council Representative crouched in the corner. He said nothing to anybody and displayed no sign revealing his purpose. On being prodded he reluctantly explained that he was distributing Student Council Polls. After filling out this innocuous slip of paper, we were astonished to find that our names had already been checked off the list, although we had not been in the House since breakfast.
The Council representative's apathy and indifference to this information led us to give fuller credence to the farce of the Lowell House Council nominations as set forth in a recent letter to the CRIMSON (nominations nearly paralleled in Leverett House).
We are forced to the conclusion that the Council is trying to sneak past its detractors and not face their accusations squarely. Robert S. Hirsch '52 Robert N. Wiener '52
