Broder Hurt; '53 Ten Faces Tufts

Turk Broder, star defenseman of the freshman lacrosse teau, was struck in the eye with a ball in the closing minutes of practice yesterday, and will be out of action indefinitely. He was rushed to Massachusetts General Hospital, where his condition was described as good. The Yardlings play Tufts at Medford at 3 p.m. today, and meet Tabor, Broder's old team, on the Business School field tomorrow.

Coach Dick Whitney will start either Hank Greenberg or George Batchelder in place of Broder.

The injury to Broder is the third in a series of mishaps which have plagued the freshman team. Just before the opening game, midfield mainstay Ron Huobseh came down with mumps. He is expected to return before the Deerfield game Saturday.

Bob Rosenman, who has been sharing the goal tending job with Walt Niemyski, suffered a bad cut on his tongue during the Mount Hermon game. The injury, though painful, is not serious enough to sideline Rosenman.

Because Huobsch is out, Whitney has been shuffling his midfield and attack lines. Norm Hatch, Bitsy Grant, and Pete Franklin will probably start at attack, with Gus Palacios joining Hann Wood and Chuck Pyle on the first midfield.
