Strong Freshman Net Team Makes Debut Tomorrow

The Yardling tennis team that makes its debut against Milton tomorrow may be the strongest he has coached, Corey Wynn said yesterday. "They show a great deal of promise, and it's all a question of experience," added Wynn, who is starting his fourth season with the Crimson.

The freshman coach named Charlie Ufford as first man for the Milton match. The former Deerfield star was a standout on the freshman soccer team this fall and was captain of the '53 squash team.

Second man in singles will be Art French, who was top man in fall tennis. French graduated from Exeter and played on the freshman hockey team this winter. Bill Harrington, Berk Johnson, and Paul Trinchieri will fill out the singled lineup.

Doubes combinations will be formed largely from the first six. Dick Meyers, who was on the freshman basketball squad, may be paired with Trinchieri as third doubles. The first two doubles are Ufford-French and Hatton-Johnson.

The Yardlings went out onto the courts for the first time Yesterday, so Coach Wynn can not be too sure of his lineup. Pete Baker has been plagued by a left arm broken this fall, and may figure in the lineup later. Others who show promise are Ben Florin, Pete Morris, Ted Sexton, and John Zentay.
