Smith to Captain Quintet; Preston Will Lead Hockey

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Lewis Thompson Preston of New York and Adams House was elected hockey captain yesterday at a meeting of the varsity squad. The 23-year-old successor to Myles Huntington first played varsity hockey in the 1946-1947 season; and will be graduated either in February or June of 1951.

After playing with the wartime varsity in his freshman year, Preston took a year and a half's leave of absence to play for the AAU Olympic team. He re-entered College in the spring term of last year and skated on the first line.

This past season, as left wing, Preston was the varsity's second highest scorer, combining eight goals and 14 assists for 22 points. Joe Kittredge, also a junior, led the Crimson scoring with 34 points.
