Winter is taking a year's leave of absence from the College, leaving behind dirty patches of snow like unwanted laundry. Spring will begin promptly at 11:36 p.m. tonight.

People who prefer the banks of the Charles to the stacks of Widener as a place of research will be pleased to learn that increasing warmer weather is creeping up on this area. However, moderately good skiing conditions were reported in Northern New England.

The principal events slated for the start of the vernal season are Easter vacation (April 2 to April 9) and the baseball opening (April 18). These events are often taken as surer signs of spring than the equinox.
