The Germanic Museum received a $200,000 endowment last week from Mrs. Edmee Buach Greenough. One of several gifts to the museum by Mrs. Greenough, it will be known as the Edmee Busch Greenough Endowment Fund.

The museum was built with funds donsted to the University in 1916 by Adolphos Busch, Mrs. Greenough's father, St. Louis beer magnate with Anheuser-Busch, manufacturers of Budweiser Beer.

Mrs. Grenough's first husband, Hugo Relsinnger, bequeathed funds to both the Germanic Museum and the College Library. Their son, Curt 11, Beisinger '12 recently gave $300,000 to the University for the establishment of the Samuel Budweiser Cross Professorship of Stavic Languages and Literature.

Kuhn, associate professor of Fine Arts and Curator of the Germanic Museum, said when the gift was announced; "This gift from a member of a family which has done much for the University will give security and continuity to the work of the Germanic Museum and will enable the museum to develop its activities with renewed vigor."

The museum serves both the Department of Fine Arts and the Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures through its permanent collections and its temporary exhibitions.

Collections of the museum are devoted to illustrating the cultural development of Germany, Scandinavia, Austria, Switzerland, Netherlands, and Belgium.
