Moving in on the tail of a cold snap that had classgoers shivering for two days, winter storms laid six to eight inches of snow over New England yesterday in time for Washington's Birthday.

Student ski fans took advantage of the holiday, jamming the slopes of Blue Hills and other local trails.

Morgan J. Davis '51 found a little Known tow near Weston. When he mentioned that he had come all the way from Harvard the management was so surprised they let his whole party go up free.

On the grimmer side was an accident to varsity wrestler Alan F. Sawyer, Jr. '53. Sawyer broke a leg when the car he was driving crashed into a truck yesterday morning, Worcester City, Hospital reported him as "fairly comfortable."
