Basketball, Wrestling, Track, and Squash Teams Post Wins

The varsity track team won the season's first indoor meet Saturday afternoon at Briggs Cago, running up 69 1/3 points against 53 1/3 for Boston University and 14 1/3 for Northeastern. Late in the meet, after most of the onlookers had left, the high jump bar was set at 6 feet, 3 1/2 inches and the height measured carefully. Tall, 24-year-old Dick Barwise then sailed over on his first attempt and set a new Harvard record by a quarter of an inch.

The outcome was in doubt only when four Terriers, led by Lee Sullivan, swept the 1000, giving B.U. a brief one-point load. But a good time on a slow track by Crimson two-miler Dave Gregory and firsts in both of the relays clinched the Harvard win. The Crimson took first place in nine of the 13 events.

At the same time the freshmen scored an 89 1/2 to 21 1/2 victory over Northeastern.

Time: 5.3 sec. 600 yard run--won by Berman (H); 2, Grutzner (H); 3, Psyras (N); 4, Fitzgerald (BU).
