Hopkins Becomes Manager of Band

Frank W. Hopkins '52 became the new band manager on Saturday when he took over the baton in the traditional ceremony after half-time at the Yale game. Paul A. Lucey '51 is the outgoing band manager.

Dana M. Hastings '52 replaces Hopkins as the band's treasurer, and Anthony E. Siegman '53 is the new secretary. The new officers will hold their posts until next year's Yale game.

Hopkins said that the band schedule for the rest of the term includes a concert for the P.B.H. settlement house children on December 18. The band will also play for two conventions in Boston and for the Springfield Harvard Club during February.

New Album

Hopkins also disclosed that "Up the Street With the Harvard Band," the latest march album, will be ready about December 10. The new album will contain four marches by John Phillip Sousa-"Stars and Stripes Forever," "Washington Post," "El Capitan," and "Semper Fidelis."

The four other marches in the recordings are "Thunder and Blazes" by Fucilo-Laurendean, "Under the Double Eagle" by J. F. Wagner, "Our Director" by F. E. Bigelow, and "Up the Street" by R. G. Morse.
