Yardling sailors closed their season by beating the M.I.T. freshmen three races out of five on the Charles River yesterday.

Skippers of the five freshmen boats were John Newhall, Tom Tavoner, Jim Nathanson, Tim Brown, and George Bates. Only three races were run in a three out of five series since the '54 captains took all first.

The freshmen were second in the New England Freshmen Sailing Association.
