Visiting Bruins Defeat Jayvees, 31-6

The junior varsity football team lost its fifth straight game yesterday, bowing 31 to 6 to the Brown jayvees at Soldiers Field. The Crimson was never in the match and its lone tally did not come until the final period.

Brown scored in every quarter except the last one; the fast and deceptive Brain backs made the difference. Once they broke through the Crimson line, the runners picked up excellent blocking, and turned in many long runs.

Al Halloran, at left half, was the outstanding man in the Brown offense. Three times he broke through the Crimson defense on simple line plays and then went the distance to the goal line. In the second period he scored on runs of 60 and 65 yards and again in the third quarter on a 56 yard run.

Sawyer Scores on Pass

The Crimson's score came on a pass from quarterback Bill Monteith to right end Al Sawyer. The play covered 25 yards and was one of the longest Crimson gains of the afternoon.

Lon Tsavaris led the Crimson attack from his halfback spot. Much improved over his early season performances, Tsavaris was at his best yesterday. His frequent dashes around end and off the tackles were the only bright spots in the Crimson offense.

The game came as a surprise to most of the local sporting fans because the schedule change which moved the contest from today to yesterday was never announced.
