Sixteen uniformed Boy Scouts will arrive in the Square tonight to help guard Harvard against Hallowe'en marauders.

In line with Acting Police Chief Patrick J. McCarthy's orders "to prevent damage to property and to prevent injury to people or the city," the scouts will pair up and guard the University's eight fire-alarm boxes against pranksters.

Scout Executive Raymond Logan said last night that his boys will report to Central Square Police Headquarters tonight and ride in squad cars to danger points around the city. "I expect they'll arrive on the job at 7:30 p.m. and stay until 9:30," Logan said.
