Football Attendances Around Nation Slump

Attendance for the fist three football games has dropped 46 percent from last year, according to a survey released yesterday.

In the first three games this year at Soldiers Field, 57,000 came, while last year's figures were 86,000. Nationwide attendance has fallen off two percent. The Far West and East have shown the largest drop, and television is catching most of the blame.

Yale crowds for the first four games total 74,000 for this year, while last year gate figures were 124,000 for four games. Princeton attendance has gone up from last fall's 75,500 to 75,990 this year.
