Crimson to Eight Husky Green JV's In Contest Today

A distinctly question-mark Dartmouth jayvee football team descends from New Hampshire today to meet the Crimson junior varsity on the freshman field at 2 p.m. this afternoon.

The Indians had a fairly strong freshman team last year and this season's varsity is loaded with seniors and juniors. This led the local coaches to believe that a good number of sophomore prospects have been farmed out temporarily to form the core of a powerful jayvee outfit.

But this poop backfired badly last Saturday. Dartmouth was helpless against a Brown team to which it lost, 33 to 7.

In spite of the Bruin debacle, the Indians look quite good defensively. Quarterback Jim Churchill, however, will probably be dressed for defensive use in the varsity game Saturday. Chuck Odons is a strong halfback, and Bill McCarthy and Fred Stephens are outstanding as right guard and linebacker, respectively.

On offense Churchill, if he plays, may be spelled often by passer Wayne Linman. John Springer is a powerful fullback, and, at the halves. Dick Calkins and Gene Teevens both break fast from the Indian straight T.

Harvard scatback Lou Tsavaris will probably be out of action today, and will be replaced by converted fullback Buddy Linn. Bill Monteith, who played only a few minutes last week, will start in his regular center post. Bill Kierstead, Art French, and Bob Kendall complete the starting backfield.
