In two House football games at 3:15 p.m. this afternoon, last year's gridiron champion Eliot will face Winthrop, while Adams will take on Leverett.
Adams, runner-up in the '49 football standings, will be hindered by an inexperienced squad. All but two of last year's starters are gone this year. Returning will be John Turner, guard, and Kevin Reilly, tailback.
With two full platoons and a comparatively heavy line, Leverett should prove strong today. Among the returning Leverett veterans are Gwill Brown, a hard running fullback, Jerry Gallo, halfback, and big Phil Saxe, tackle.

A last minute change in the Winthrop lineup will not find tailback John Ederer on the field. Ederer, a strong sophomore candidate for the varsity team who is now on probation, has been requested by Coach Lloyd Jordan to keep out of House football.
Captain Roger Pugh of the Elephants will lead the defending House football champions but the team is considerably weakened this year by lack of experience.
