The Crimson golfers invaded Boston University's home course at the Oakley Country Club yesterday and nipped the Terriers in a close match, 4 to 3.
Two ties were recorded in the tight match, but the Crimson managed to squeeze through with three victories in the fourth, sixth, and seventh positions. None of Harvard's golfers had ever played the course before.
Dick O'Keeffe turned in a phenomenally low 69, to lead the scoring. Playing in the seventh slot for the Crimson, he managed to beat par by two strokes. Hugh Nawn of Harvard followed close behind with a 72, and two players on each team posted 75's.
The golfers, with a present record of two wins, one tie, and seven losses, will play host to Bowdoin Saturday at the Dedham Polo and Country Club.
