'Cliffe Grad School Grants Will Bring 28 to Cambridge

Twenty-eight young women will study in Radcliffe's Graduate School next year under fellowship grants announced yesterday by Dean Bernice B. Cronkhite. A twenty-ninth award will send the recipient to Mexico for travel and research in the field of economics.

One of the grants will bring an English girl from Cambridge University to study in the United States for the first time. Nine states, the District of Columbia, Brazil, the British Isles, Canada, China, Puerto Rico, and Turkey are represented by the fellowship winners, who have studied in 30 universities here and abroad.

Five of those listed expect to receive their bachelor of arts degrees in June, while the remaining 24 are now at graduate schools or have recently been engaged in graduates studies.

Radcliffe placed five in the group. Ruth Crozier of Cambridge and Nancy Lane of Belmont received bachelor of arts degrees at the Annex. Lucy Axelbank of New York City, who won the grant for study in Mexico; Ruth Fitzmayer of Louisville, Kentucky; and Luz Torruellos of San Juan, Puerto Rico, completed their masters degrees at the 'Cliffe Graduate School.
