Council DP Group Will Seek Bender OK in Fund Drive

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Council Displaced Person Committee will ask the Chairman of the seven House Committees and Dean Bender tomorrow to authorize a drive in the Houses to raise $1 per man up to a total of $2200 for seven DP's who are expected to come to the College next fall.

Roy M. Goodman '51, who heads the Committee, said last night that the plan is for each House to "adopt" one DP by collecting enough to pay for most of his room, board, and miscellaneous expenses.

Provost Buck has already said that the College will use scholarship funds for the tuition of the DP students.

Monday night the Council voted $1000 toward the $4200 estimated necessary to pay their non-tuition expenses, and suggested that extra-curricular organizations round up the remaining $1000.
