Funeral services for Arthur H. Conant, 86, a University employee for 37 years, will be held in Appleton Chapel this afternoon at 2 p.m.
Conant, who for many years rang the Memorial Church bells calling students to classes and church, died Wednesday after a protracted illness. He was custodian of the Paine Music Building during his employment and was a member of the Harvard Lodge of Masons. His wife, Mrs. Conclia Ramirez Conant, two sons and a daughter survive him.
