Lowell Five Wins Title in Comeback

Lowell's basketball players captured the A League championship in their final game last night, pulling out of their recent slump to run down Dunster, 59 to 33.

The Bellboys staged a brilliant revival of the high-powered drive which spelled victory in the first ten contests of their 14 game schedule. It was like old times when scrappy Johnny Goldsmith raced over the boards to score 18 points for the winners with his quicker-than-the-eye juggling act.

Just in case Lowell had lost, Dudley beat Eliot, 30 to 24, to finish in second place, one game behind the Bellboys. In the other A game, Winthrop downed Leverett, 35 to 29, while Dunster defeated Lowell, 43 to 21, in the B League.

Lowell also holds the title in League A squash, which ended up for the season yesterday.
