Adams Beats Deacons Five, Dudley Wins

Most House basketball games in the last few days have been won by slender one, two, or three point margins. Dudley changed that trend yesterday afternoon by burying Eliot with a cannonade of 60 points against the Elephants' 20. The victory was the fifth in a row for Coach Bob Waite's commuters.

Dudley's speed and adept ball handling easily stopped Eliot's slow, unorganized attack. If none of the Commuters had scored except John Woods, they still would have had a one point edge over Eliot. The tall forward dropped ten field goals and one foul shot through the hoop for a total of 21 points.

Adam's short, fast team employed the varsity's fluid play system with enough success to stay a few points ahead of frantically pursuing Kirkland. The Gold coasters won, 34-31, in the evening half of yesterday's House basketball at the Indoor Athletic Building.

The Deacons' failure to make their free throws count defeated them as much as anything Adams did. Meanwhile, the Gold Coasters completed 12 of 21 foul shots successfully. Kirkland got panicky in the last two minutes of the game and had one technical and four personal fouls called against them. Adams capitalized on these scoring opportunities.

Don Rourke of Kirkland was the high scorer of the game with a total of 18 points. Bob Parker, Ted Wolf, and Frank Holt scored 11, six, and six points respectively for Adams.

The Winthrop-Leverett game scheduled for last night was postponed.

In the B League, Eliot decisively defeated Dudley, 48-30. Hoffman of Dudley led the scoring with 20 points. Adams just managed to get past Kirkland, 25-23. Flalkow of Adams was top scorer with nine points.
