President and Mrs. Conant accepted the invitation of three brash freshmen and came to tea yesterday afternoon in Straus B-42.
"We enjoyed ourselves at the Conants' tea for freshmen, so we decided to reciprocate and invite them to our room. They probably don't get many chances to talk to freshmen," host Michael J. Halberstanm '52 explained.
Mark L. Goodman '53 also a host, didn't "want to say anything about the party, except that the Conants were very gracious and interesting."
The President and his wife arrived slightly out of breath after climbing to the fourth floor, sipped a cup of tea, talked about freshman life and examinations for about ten minutes, and them departed or a Leverett House dinner. Conant returned Monday from a four day trip to Houston, Texas.
