Hockey Team Meets BU Six in Arena Tonight

If real rough hockey and a possible brawl is what you're looking for in the way of entertainment, by all means wend your way down to the Boston Arena tonight. The varsity hockey team and B.U., the two contenders whose most recent skirmish resulted last year in 58 minutes of penalties and four serious injuries, face off at 9 p.m. in the second half of the season's first hockey double bill.

On paper the B.U. squad is easily the finest hockey team in the New England area. It has Ike Bevins now in his third official year (his fourth unofficially) playing in the goal along with what amounts to the very same set of forwards and defensemen as last year.

One indication of the all-around quality of the Terrier team is that Jack Garrity, brother of Harvard's Bill Garrity, and considered by some the finest American college player around, is slated to start on the second line for B.U. He is a wing.

Chase Goes With Chase

Crimson coach John Chase, after studying the team's mediocre performance against MIT Saturday, has made certain crucial changes in his lineup.

First, Johnny Chase, who handled nine chances flawlessly in the goal Saturday and was the only Crimson goal tender to shut Tech out, will undoubtedly start in the nets and play most, if not all of the time.

DiBlasio Off Defense

Second, Bob DiBlasio will center the third line. DiBlasio was paired with Jack Carmen at defense last Saturday, but did not show up too well. In his place at defense will be Algy Allen, who played with Steve Howe against Tech.

The first and second lines remain the same. Dave Abbot and Doug Anderson are wings on Myles Huntington's first line; Joe Kittredge and Bill Garrity flank Lew Preston; and DiBlasio has Carl Timpson and Shorty Minot as third line wings.

The first defense will be Carmen and Allen, with Bob Bliss and Dusty Burke as replacements.
