President Elpido Quirino rolled up a commanding lead today on the basis of mounting provincial returns from yesterday's bloody national election.

The election's toll of violence mounted day's bloody Philippine election.

Unofficial returns gave Quirino 176,860 votes, Alurel 92,073 and Jose Avelino, a third party candidate 34,389.
