Dean Bender revealed yesterday that more men received prizes for general excellence in studies--Deturs--last spring than over before in Harvard's history.
The prizes, which now go to all students who make Rank List I for the first time, went to 79 men. The Deturs winners will be presented with a book of their choice by the fund.
