Garber Privately Tells Faculty That Harvard Must Rethink Messaging After GOP Victory
Radcliffe dormitory students will have the chance to meet their professors on an informal basis under a new faculty affiliation plan announced yesterday by Miss Mary Small, Dean of Residence.
This week each dormitory submitted a list of the faculty members of its choice; invitations will go out to the selected professors the week after next. Only Moors Hall has not yet made its decisions. Each of the larger dorms will have approximately six faculty affiliates, while Bertram and Eliot Halls will have five each. An effort will be made to represent as many University departments as possible.
Dinner Parties
After acceptances have been received, the dormitories will hold dinner parties for the new faculty affiliates to become acquainted with each other and the house residents. The chosen professors and their wives will be invited to all house social events as well as asked to drop in occasionally at teas.
The entire plan, under discussion among the college's administrative officers for over a year, will attempt to solve the chronic problem of closer student-faculty relations at a large university.
