John Galbraith, lecturer in Economics and Director of Agricultural and Marketing Research at Harvard during the past year, has been named professor of Economics. Provost Buck announced last night.
Galbraith, who was director of the Office of Economic Security Policy during the war, will continue to direct research in farm problems and teach Economics 107, 161, and 207--courses in prices, consumption and distribution, and business organization.
Won Two Awards
In addition to working with ESP, Galbraith also served as administrator or consultant to several other government agencies, winning the Medal of Freedom for the Strategic Bombing Survey.
