Budget Forces Suspension Of Athletic Training Table

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Training tables, and Athletic Association sponsored service for all varsity athletes, will be suspended immediately after the Yale game, William J. Binghani '16, director of the Athletic Association, announced yesterday.

In making this announcement for the Committee for the Regulation of Undergraduate Athletics, Bingham stated that the cost of providing meals for athletes before all athletic contests has reached a figure which makes continuance of this service impossible.

"Considerable" Saving

Carroll F. Getchell, HAA business manager, was unable to estimate the amount of money which would be saved by this move, but he commented that the savings, would be "considerable."

The HAA finished last year with a $123,000 deficit. A similar situation was met at Princeton, where the training table was abandoned earlier this year after the Rutgers game.

Tonight will mark the last time any varsity team eats at the Varsity Club, for the football team entrains for New Haven at 10 a.m. tomorrow.
