Council to Argue Student Groups

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Any undergraduates wanting to form a new student organization will be allowed to by the Student Council so long as they state their purpose and conform with existing rules for undergraduate organizations, if a resolution proposed by William D. Mulholland, Jr. '50 is accepted by the Council at tonight's meeting.

The "existing rules for undergraduate organizations" provided for in this resolution have not been approved yet by the Council, however. They were submitted for Council approval over a year ago, and are still being used by the Dean's Office as such because the Council has taken no action on approval or revision.

Mulholland's resolution puts no Council-imposed restrictions on existing or new organizations. Its main effect will be to provide free rein for the formation of new organizations.
