Lowell Ahead in House League Basketball Race

Eliot, Winthrop Set Hockey Pace

The wheels rumbled at the Indoor Athletic Building yesterday, and as the last squash score rolled in, Intramural Director Dolph Samboraski came out with the first half standings in all House League play.

The semi-professional Lowell five is miles out in front in A League basketball after five straight wins, with second-seeded Dunster next. The 14 game schedule means that each team must face the Bellboys twice, a task that is not for the weak, but it is possible that they will delay their usual last-minute rush until too late one day.

The other half of Lowell is living in the cellar of the B League basketball with five losses; Kirkland dominates this division, now this year, after five successive wins.

Three games out of seven leave the traditionally strong, undefeated-in-cons Eliot team tied for first with Winthrop in the hockey league.

Meanwhile, the Squash Leagues bounce along, in their way, with Lowell and Dunster among the top three in both A and B Leagues.

A LEAGUE BASKETBALL: Lowell (5-0), Dunster (4-1), Eliot (3-2), Dudley (2-3), Kirkland (2-3) Leverett (2-3) Adams (1-4), Winthrop (1-4).

A LEAGUE SQUASH: Lowell (14-0), Dunster (12-2), Winthrop (10-10),

Eliot (6-9), Kirkland (4-6), Adams (6-13), Leverett (2-14).

B LEAGUE SQUASH: Eliot (13-2), Dunster (10-5), Lowell (6-4), Kirkland (8-7), Winthrop (6-9), Leverett (8-12), Adams (4-16).
