'Cops Beat Me,' Yells Prowler; Denies Rape

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Francis J. Gallagher, suspected of being the prowler who terrorized Radcliffe last month, leaped out of the witness chair in Middlesex Court yesterday and screamed that he had been beaten by police.

Police officials denied Gallagher's charge last night and declared that he could show no bruises to support it.

Gallagher also denied the attempted rape of Dorothy Drohan, for which he is being tried. The defense rested its case yesterday afternoon and the jury is expected to reach a decision today.

In a previous, session, Gallagher's sister testified that she was with him in the Square 15 minutes before the attack supposedly took place.
