Sherman Claims Exam System at Annex 'Awkward'

Dean Mildred P. Sherman of Radcliffe remained unruffled last night in the face of the proposed Harvard-Radcliffe final exam merger which would presumably put an end to honor-system privileges at the Annex.

"This isn't really a new thought," Miss Sherman commented. "It's been on the minds of the Radcliffe administration for well over a year as more and more examples of administrative awkwardness came to our attention."

Typical "examples of awkwardness," she pointed out, include difficulties of juggling two sets of bluebooks, inability of professors to appear at the Harvard exam room and in the 'Cliffe Yard as well, and synchronization needed to deliver two sets of exams in different places at exam time.

No matter on which side of the fence faculty opinion falls, however, Miss Sherman added, the final word will come from the 19-girl 'Cliffe Student Council, representing all 'Cliffedwellers.

"We shall expect the Radcliffe student body," she stated, "to express itself through Student Council after investigating to see what advantages of our honor system may be retained if the merger goes through because of pressing administrative necessities."

Currently, under the traditional system, 'Cliffedwellers can move freely in and out of both exam room and Longfellow Hall, site of Annex finals.
