Research Center Nails Law Expert

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Plans for the newly-created Russian Research Center moved ahead last night as the University appointed an expert on Soviet law to a position on the Center's staff.

He is Harold J. Berman, assistant professor of Law at Stanford University. In addition to his post on the Russian Center, Berman will be visiting professor of Law and a lecturer in the International and Regional Studies program.

The Center was established last December under a grant from the Carnegie Corporation to "supply American scholars with an outline of some of the gaps in this nation's knowledge of the USSR."
