Atoning somewhat for their big brothers' loss, the Jayvee and Freshman diamond forces both came through with weekend victories, the Jayvees blanking Suffolk, 5-0, behind the four-hit pitching of Langdon Clay, while the Yardlings stopped Exeter, 4-3, for their first win of the season.
Clay was superb in registering his second triumph, fanning 14 and contributing a single, a double, and a triple to the Jayvee attack. The winners picked up a run in the first, two more in the second and two in the third.
The Freshmen bunched three of their five hits into the first inning and scored three quick runs with the aid of some sloppy Exeter fielding.
