The New Student, volume 1, number 2, goes on sale here today despite University refusal to recognize the AYD magazine as a Harvard publication. The title page of the issue contains only the words "published in Cambridge, Massachusetts by members of the intercollegiate division of American Youth for Democracy."
The magazine will be distributed by staff members, other local AYDers, and some non-partisan students described by editor Lee Kamin '48 as "working as a protest to the University's decision." Street sales in the Square have received official sanction from police chief King.
