Crimson Attack Melts Before B.C. Speed

A vastly improved Boston College sextet avenged themselves of an earlier defeat at the hands of the Crimson by downing them 6 to 1 at the Arena last night. Sinking their first goal five minutes into the first period, the Eagles were never threatened as the speedy line hold full command at all times and swarming defensemen stifled every Harvard of-sensive threat.

In afternoon games, the Jayvees picked up where the Varsity left off in downing Fort Devens 8 to 3, while the Freshmen slaughtered Andover 14 to 2.

Fast skating and dead-eyed puck handling completely befuddled the Varsity defense, which never managed to put up more than a token effort toward stopping the B.C. line. The Crimson's own offense, in the meantime, was effectively bottled by the hard checking Eagles, while their efficient goalie Bernie Burke disposed of any shots which got that far.

The sole Harvard marker came at 18:22 of the second period when Shaw McKean angled a long one into the far corner of the twines. But the rest of the time the line was just too closely guarded to be effective, despite the aggressive efforts of Dave Key and Dick Greeley.
