The 1950 lightweight crew eastern sprint races will take place on the Charles, the Eastern Association of Rowing Colleges announced yesterday. Simultancously it was disclosed that the eastern inter-collegiate golf champion ships of 1950 will also be decided at Harvard.
The crew races will be held on May 20, 1950, and the golf event on May 5 and 6, 1950.
New Ruling on Jerseys
Both the Eastern Association of Rowing Colleges and the Inter-Collegiate Rowing Association issued a joint ruling requiring that crews wear jerseys of distinctive colors, with sleeves at least one-quarter length. This was done to help identify the crews from the shore.
The Eastern group set the 1950 sprint races in the heavyweight class for May 13, at Annapolis.
Atlantic City is the site of the 1940 eastern inter-collegiate golf championship, scheduled for May 6 and 7. Last year's eastern intercollegiates took place on the greens at Princeton, New Jersey.
