Radcliffe Scraps Tuesday Evening Christmas Dinner

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Radcliffe broke a decade-old tradition yesterday when it called off the Christmas supper and story reading which was to take place in Agassiz Tuesday evening, after an informal poll taken in the dormitories showed that only a small percentage of the girls would be able to attend.

Barbara Fitzgerald, sophomore vicepresident and chairman of the affair, announced the Christmas supper committee's decision. She added that a higher ticket price and the submission of only one manuscript in the story contest also influenced the move. Tickets already purchased will be refunded.

Strong opposition to the change in plans came from the residents of Everett House, the Annex cooperative dormitory. The girls offered to prepare the entire meal themselves in order to reduce the admission rate, but the committee decided that it would prove too complex a task.
