NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The varsity football and soccer captains for 1949 will be elected this afternoon in meetings of 1948 "H" winners in Dillon Field House.

In addition, the official pictures of both squads will be taken. In the evening, the football team will hold its traditional post-season banquet, the first in Art Valpey's regime.

Thirteen juniors are eligible for the football captaincy: guards Howle Houston, Jerry Kanter, and Gordie Stonsrud; tackles Doug Bradlee, Will Davis, and Dick Guidera; centers Chuck Glynn and Bill Hickey; and backs Mol Freedman, Jim Kenary, Hal Mofile, Jimmy Noonan, and Paul Shafer.

First stringers Bill Henry and Charlie Roche will also be eligible for the honor unless they accelerate their courses in order to graduate in June.

Next year's captain of the soccer team will be one of nine lettermen. Loring Batchelder, Rick Drake, Mike Scully, Dick Saul, Jon Spivak, Bill Gilbert, Franny Chen, Dick Wallace, and Jim Bell are all in line for the 1949 leadership.
