Ticket Distribution Hits Snag for Some Students

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

It was better than last year because there wasn't any line at the HAA ticket office yesterday. Though most undergraduates thought they were too far down toward the end zone, at least most seniors had excellent seats for their last college Yale game.

But there were still some HAA-style mistakes.

Class List Snafu

E. Parker Hayden, Jr. '50 found himself sitting with the Class of 1911 in the middle of the south end zone sections.

The chief complaint registered by undergraduates was over the size of the section marked "squad applications," which contains exactly 1187 seats.

Section Breakdown

Ticket Manager Frank O. Lunden, faced with such complaints, offered a breakdown of the squad section.

An estimated 500 tickets go to men directly connected with football at Harvard. All 44 varsity football players receive six seats in recognition of their season's work; JV and freshman squad members got two ducats in the choice section. Other tickets go to coaches, doctors, and managers.

Officials Get 350

A further block of tickets was allotted to members of the Corporation, the Board of Overseers, and administrative officials. This bloc has been estimated at 350 seats.

By this count, some 300 tickets are still left unaccounted for, some complainants have pointed out.
