Radcliffe Will Poll Girls on Joint Exams

Radcliffe's Student Government committee on joint examinations will poll Annex upperclassmen Monday and Tuesday for their reactions to possible combined Harvard-Radcliffe finals.

Results of the poll, which will be tallied later in the week by the four-girl committee, will be incorporated into an undergraduate report. The report will be sent to President W. K. Jordan before December 3.

Questionnaires, which were drawn up by Joan Braverman '50, committee chairman, Phoebe Booth '49, Sylvia Larrabee '49, and Hetty K. Heaton '50, will be distributed in Annex dormitories and Agassiz House on Monday. Voting will continue through Tuesday evening.

Freshmen Excluded

Only Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors will cast ballots in this survey, though Freshmen may have a private poll of their own after January midyears.

The poll will be split into two sections:

1) Are you in favor of instituting joint examinations?

2. Do you think the honor system works at Radcliffe?

A list of reasons, to be checked when the poll is answered, lines up pros and cons of combined examinations after the first question.

Joint examinations would mean that Radcliffe students would take their midyears and finals at Harvard, under the University system of proctoring.
