The Harvard crew officially lifts the lid on its 1948-49 campaign tomorrow morning with the annual Armistice Day intra-squad race on the Charles. The traditional duel is scheduled for 11:30 a.m.
Coach Tom Bolles' squad, which has been practicing all fall, will form five crows and row downstream for one mile, starting at the M.I.T. boathouse and finishing just below the Harvard Bridge. Bolles selected the five strokes, who then picked the rest of their crews after establishing "draft rights."
Leading the respective crews will be John Hutchinson, stroke on last year's Junior Varsity eight; Arthur Rouner, who stroked last year's Freshman boat; Charles Rinner, Jayvee stroke early last season; Jim Homans, freshman stroke in 1947; and George Lodge.
