Thomas E. Dewey has won an overwhelming endorsement from Radcliffe's students.
Results of a CRIMSON poll, tabulated last night, give Dewey 281 votes, Truman 61, Wallace 43, Thomas 26, Thurmand 5, 12 undecided, and 3 write-in votes.
Dewey led in every class. His margin ranged from 5 1/3 to 1 in the Freshman class to 4 to 3 among the Seniors.
The overwhelming Dewey victory marked a sharp turn-about from previous Annex political leanings. In 1944, 1940, and 1936, Radcliffe students had thrown their support to Franklin D. Roosevelt '04.
Actual Votes
The CRIMSON straw vote also indicated that 10.3 percent of Radcliffe's students plan to vote next Tuesday. Most of these will come from the Senior class.
A Radcliffe League for Democracy poll, whose results were announced last night, also showed a Dewey landslide. The RLD straw vote showed 48.7 percent for Dewey, 18 percent for Truman, 12.9 percent for Wallace, and 12.9 percent for Thomas.
The RLD survey also found that a much larger proportion of Truman backers were of voting age than their pro Dewey counterparts. Twenty two percent of the Trumanites are over 21, contrasted to 10 percent of the Deweyites, and 8 percent of the Wallace backers.
