Union Committee Has First Meeting

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Meeting for the first time this year, the Freshman Union Committee last night made preliminary plans for its year's program.

The only specific action by the Committee was the appointment of a three-man Food Sub-Committee to meet with the dining room manager of the Union. Chosen for this suggestion group were Douglas W. Patterson '52, Robert D. Mohlman '52, and Benjamin F. MacDonald '52.

Television Starts Today

Other discussion ranged around the organization of a Freshman debating team, a one-a-week movie program, and rules for the use of the new television set to be formally installed and made ready for use today.

The members of the Union Committee were chosen to represent a wide cross-section of the country. First nominated by the proctors in their respective halls, they were actually selected by the three Freshman Deans and the Secretary of the Union.
