HYRC Readies Hoopla and Parade To Greet Dewey Speech Tonight

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Harvard Young Republican Club will carry the torch for Thomas E. Dewey tonight in an old fashioned political parade starting at 5:40 p.m.

Jerry S. Augustine '50, the HYRC publicity director, predicted that over 500 club members would partake in the general G.O.P. festivities preceding the presidential candidates speech in the Boston Arena.

The marchers will congregate at the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and Beacon Street where they will be augmented by undergraduates from other local colleges. A brass band, torches, and all of the rest of the trimmings will send them on their way along the ten minute march to the Boston Arena.

Free Admittance

At the Arena there will be a reserved section where they will be able to voice their political sentiments. Dewey's speech is scheduled to start at 9 a.m.

The Club has distributed over 500 tickets for the speech, but it is understood that anyone marching in the parade will be admitted to the Arena.
